High Blood Pressure and Heart Health

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension, is serious and must be managed throughout a patient’s life. But there are many ways you and your doctors can bring it under control. You may be told to make lifestyle changes, like getting more exercise and eating a better diet. Medications like COREG CR are also a key part of treatment. It is important to remember that managing your high blood pressure is a lifelong commitment.

Medication

Exercise and a change in diet sometimes aren’t enough to treat your high blood pressure. Your doctor may also prescribe medication.

COREG CR, a once-a-day medication, is part of a class of drugs known as beta-blockers and is indicated for the treatment of people with high blood pressure.

COREG CR can help lower your blood pressure and help your heart pump better. It can be used along with other medications.

You may have other conditions along with high blood pressure, such as diabetes or high cholesterol. If so, you may have to take several different drugs.

Lifestyle Changes

Lifestyle changes are essential for treating high blood pressure.

Your doctor may tell you to:

  • Improve your diet (by reducing the salt and fat in your diet)
  • Engage in regular exercise
  • Limit alcohol intake
  • If you smoke, quit smoking.
